It is a chilling book because it contains situations that can be real. The book contains political scandal, the affair, the criminal trial, the personal repercussions of every decision. These could happen just as they're laid out and therefore that makes this book just that much more chilling.

Vaughan's style unfolds the story, and the backstory, little by little, in such a very good way. The pacing of the book, and the development of the characters is done by giving the various players their own Point of View chapters, that I really liked, so the reader is constantly given information that contradicts and is mashed together until the final reveal at the end

I highly recommend putting this book as to be your next read.
