Normally I try to give a synopsis when writing a review but I'm having a hard time coming up with something that won't give too much away. The main thing you need to know about the book is it involves a trial for a man accused of rape. The story follows the perspectives of a few different women.

I admire the author for her attempt in tackling a very tough and sensitive subject. I might not have always liked her writing style but this is a book that makes you think and for that reason alone I'm glad I read it. There were some parts that dragged on and some transitions weren't the best but overall I liked how she chose to tell the story from the perspectives of multiple women who were affected by the case. The trial took place in England which was also fascinating to me as an American because of the differences in the judicial systems.

If you think you can handle the subject matter, I think this is well-worth a read and certainly makes for a good discussion book.
