When Sophie's beloved husband, James, is accused of a terrible crime, she of course takes his side. Even though his lawyer, Kate, was hired to protect, she is certain he's guilty. Who is right? The wife or the lawyer?

Adultery. Rape. Lies.

This book was marketed as a thriller and suspense novel, but in my opinions, it was neither of those things. Instead, it is about James, a member of British parliament who is accused of rape. Its focus is mostly on his trial and his past. Overall, since it lacked emotion and was longer than necessary, this is not a book I could recommend.

***Trigger Warning*** Rape, especially date rape. A lot of details are revealed at the trial.

I received an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
