As more gets revealed about these character's pasts, you start to see them in different ways. It's easy to think that maybe he's innocent in the beginning and his accuser is just a jealous woman seeking revenge after he broke her heart. But as the story went on, I started to see things differently. The same goes for other characters as it switches back and forth from their pasts and presents. I also found the theme of the book to be very relevant to our time where almost everyday you hear about another celebrity or politician being accused of a sexual offense. Like the jury of the trial, you have to figure out if it was consensual but now she wants revenge or if it was rape. This story had a slow build, but it was worth the payoff
