This was a thrilling read! The story is told through the perspective of multiple characters, both in the present day and in flashbacks. Sophie displays a vulnerability, and yet also an amazing strength of character. James seems a loving father and husband, but is he? Lastly there is Kate, the barrister trying this case. She is a strong female character with secrets of her own. Their story is timely considering the number of men in the spotlight for negative actions toward women. Yet this story is made fresh by the plot twists.
The writing style is straightforward and easy to connect with. I was drawn into the story from the start, and kept moving through the fast pace of the narrative. This book would make a great vacation or beach read!
