I read the First Look and then was lucky enough to receive a free copy of the book. I am glad I did. The First Look was good enough to tease me, but I was greatly impressed by the twists and turns in the full novel. The author does a great job describing the pains of a wife who is subjected to the public scandal relating to her husband's actions and the deep-seated desires of a prosecutor looking to win the battle for the defenseless. The story winds through the lives (past and present) of those involved in the scandal, husband and wife, victim and prosecutor, and the powerful political allies. It is a lesson that past sins can come back to haunt you, no matter how deeply buried they may be. The ending was different than I expected, but it brought a satisfying conclusion to this scandal.
