This starts off in the second chapter which takes place several weeks after the first chapter. I think that's important to keep in mind because I feel like something important happened there which is why they chose to leave it out take as not to give too much away.

Sophie is your typical high society housewife with a powerful husband. She is clearly very much in love with him, but it definitely hints at some issues, and now the whole world is about to know about how affair. I felt like the sample was 90% her going on and on about little details of their life until her husband's comes home and confessed. Which honestly had me bored. I do like the idea of the story and I'm thinking whatever this dark past is will make the book more interesting as it goes on. I'm also dying to know what happened in the first chapter. So it did hook me that way. I only rated 3 starts instead of 4 because I was expecting a thriller and haven't gotten any thriller vibes yet
