I can't believe how much tension was built up in just this short chapter. I can tell this is going to be a high-stakes read, with lots of twists and turns! I'm very curious to know more about the previous indiscretion, and I wonder if the wife has any secrets of her own that will soon come to light as a result of the increased scrutiny.
