This excerpt gives readers just enough to know that we're going to get a glimpse into the mind of a type of character people always question- the wife of a prominent politician who has strayed. It's a short excerpt, so we know little about the characters so far, but the author has done a good job setting up the tension and intrigue that I expect to permeate the rest of this story. I'm expecting a story that gives up its secrets slowly and tantalizingly.
