At first this story pulled me in. A young man leaving a semi-controlling family to venture out on his own for graduate school. I enjoyed some of the story at first, however, I quickly felt as though I was crawling along in my reading. Scott the main character seemed to have no depth, even when I had read through almost half the book I didn't feel I really knew the true Scott. The characters just seem one dimensional.

Ok, I understand this is not suppose to be a sentimental book. As it's in the historical romance catagory. But I want to know the characters somewhat. The author has no problem describing fashion. I'd rather know about the person, their feelings, etc... Than every outfit they are wearing!

Overall, I gave this book a 1 star because I did not finish it. I bailed for boredom.
