When the option to read the excerpt came up and I saw how beautiful cover was, I promptly read the excerpt and submitted for a chance to win the ARC.
This story is about Scott Stoddard, an American graduate student, studying in Switzerland, who falls instantly in love with Desiree at first sight in 1960's Europe. He thinks he misses the chance to meet her but they do and a romance ensues between the two who are in two very different societal classes.
The Author writes beautiful descriptive scenes. However, the characters personalities never come alive, which made the story dry and dull.
I was hoping to love this book but unfortunately, it was just an okay read for me.
I will however, look out for future works by this author.
