This book is about a devolving serial killer hiding in plain sight in the suburbs, a boy searching for his missing friend, and a contract killer. At first the changing points of view and the disparate story lines confused me. But I stuck it out and eventually it started making sense.
The beginning moved a little slow for my tastes. It took awhile for things to happen. But once Evan was missing, it started to pick up. I really enjoyed the portion about the boys. By the end everything was moving fast. The second half of the story was very exciting. And I loved the shocking last chapter. I wasn't expecting that.
