Almost Damned is a very good 2nd book and really well written. The problem for me is that I never read the first book which would explain my utter confusion throughout the entire book.
First off there are way too many characters. This book is only 200 pages and there are no fewer then 30 characters, some from the previous book. I like the storylines of each character which all converge at the end. But up until that time you have no idea what is going on. The book just doesn't flow well.
I've been working in the legal world for a long time (not a lawyer, 15 years) and the legal information is very well written. Criminal attorneys are some of the toughest out there and definitely go through a lot of crazy stuff.
Overall I liked the book, and when I have time will read the first book because I'd like to understand Almost Damed more that I did at the end.
