I wanted to like this book based on the synopsis and exciting opening. However, I was greatly disappointed to find that this book is very clearly written through the male gaze. The descriptions of female characters and the handling of the sexual assault case in the beginning was gross. It's unacceptable in my opinion and only adds to untrue stigmas and rape culture. The cover is just strange.
