Cover: The statue on the cover sells the cover a lot because it look ominous/creepy.
It is not my type of story. I am not interested by what the character is talking about. The prologue did not sell me either- the possibility of three women (his mom, grandmother, and great grandmother I believe) not dying seems interesting on paper- but the actuality of how it was revealed was not catching me.
