I love a good true crime story. They are crazy and mostly very unbelievable (real life is crazier than fiction, etc). This was no exception. It had a story that was immersive, unbelievable, shocking and scary. Take that and add great writing and investigative skills and you have a wonderful book.

I love how Leslie weaved this story without revealing the perpetrator in the beginning, even though it was pretty obvious who it was. You had to question, can this person be really that unhinged till it is really confirmed. Yes, this person is that manipulative. They lived in their own world, and it was very obvious noone was the wiser that there were mental problems. Even though the person has never claimed in their defense for mental instability, to do the things they did have to be a tad crazy.

The book was binge worthy, even if it was dense and full of a lot of characters and backstories (some felt unnecessary and more of a filler). I would still definitely recommend this to anyone who's interested in true crime, and women perpetrators especially.
