The preface was longer than I would've enjoyed. I do think it was relevant, but don't see why this couldn't be added to the end of the book About the Author. I don't know that it was warranted to be in the beginning. That plus the introduction took up 50% of this first impression. The reader needs to be sucked in and hooked to the story a lot sooner in my opinion.
