Yolanda Vance is an FBI agent fresh out of Quantico sent undercover to investigate an “extremist” organization. I don’t know why, but I thought this book was more of a contemporary book than a thriller, so it blew my socks off with how high stakes and action packed this book was. In addition to the well executed plot, I think the characters were very well fleshed out and multi dimensional. The side characters were given enough time to develop and feel real as opposed to characters there to push along the main character on her character arc. I was not a huge fan of the romance aspect of the story, but not because it wasn’t well done - I personally was just not as interested and I prefer to see Yolanda on her own. My one complaint is the ending was a let-down. It felt incomplete on its own and a little rushed. I hope this book is a series because I would love to follow more of Yolanda’s story.
