This book is just way too all over the place for me. It jumps from present to flashbacks and the protagonist’s professional and personal life and everything seems sort of surface level. I don’t understand the group she’s infiltrating or the company that they’re up in arms about but also mad about cancer and covid and police brutality and jobs and etc you get the point. I also was really frustrated about the casual mention of covid without any context. I think i had been assuming this book was set decades in the past based on the context of eco-terrorism or whatever, but apparently this is present day. And covid had happened but there are no masks or social distancing, so it must actually be far in the future. Oh, and i keep thinking they’re talking about Ruth Bader Ginsberg every time they say RBG and that hurts my brain too. It’s just too much.
