I don't know what it is about the writing, but I find it incredibly mesmerizing. It was really easy to relate to Yolanda, especially with how the book starts out (with a job interview). Her line of thought was entertaining; it felt almost like I was reading the journal of somebody I knew and was just getting extra info as to what was going on in the story I was told.
