I found the synopsis of this book to be very intriguing, and I was so excited to read it! Unfortunately, I was a bit let down. This book had the makings to be a very cool sci-fi story, but I found I disliked the characters. Althea 310’s perspective was interesting at first, but then became very monotonous. I longed for it to switch to Jack’s perspective, but found that his wasn’t that different. The events in this book also took a very long time to get going, although they did pick up significantly in the last 50 or so pages. My favorite part was the original Althea’s journal, and I think that it would have been really cool if this book had had alternating chapters between past and present, switching between Althea 310 and the original Althea Lane. Overall, I think this book is a very interesting concept and has some very good aspects to it, but I did not enjoy it as much as I had hoped.
