I really struggled to connect to any of the characters, but this future world did raised some interesting questions.

The premise of clones and the world they occupied was really interesting. Finlay created a world where clones were based on nine human models. Each clone was replicated ten times. For example, Althea is one of ten Altheas. Carson is one of ten Carsons, and so on. Every ten years the clones replicate again. So every ten years over a total of three hundred years there have been only nine sets of ten clones. They identify themselves as Althea-310 or Althea-311. Or at least that’s how I put it all together. If you’ve ever gone to the copy machine and made a copy and then a copy of that copy and so on, then you know that each additional copy changes, or degrades, from the original. That’s what happens to these clones. That’s why Jack is important. They need his DNA. Unfortunately, not everyone on the Council of Vispera believes there’s an issue, so Jack is seen as little more than a nostalgic science experiment.
