I began reading Your One & Only at 10:00 p.m. and finished it by 1:00 a.m. Three hours of reading straight through when I should have been sleeping, and this book was worth every yawn the day after! Yes, I'm tired, but I'm oh so happy to have read Your One & Only.

There are two main characters: Althea, a clone from 300 year old DNA, and Jack, a living human fossil. Finlay creates a clone world with vivid detail of the sights, sounds and smells, as well as drawing the reader into the reliance of the collective in a clone society. Finlay also writes well about relationships, and I became invested in the characters.

This is not a book that is lightness and sunshine as the reader is learning about a society that is scared and is doing what it feels necessary to protect their safety. There is a lot of degrading behavior between the conflicted characters. The reality of human behavior only made the clone behavior even more plausible.

The only quibble I had with Your One & Only is that the book had to end.
