Hundreds of years after humans have gone extinct, Jack is the only human living in a society filled with nine variations of clones. I really sympathized with Jack, because the clones found it so difficult to understand his qualities that made him human and they labeled him as a danger to society because of his humanity. Some of the logic of the value of life that the clones had was disturbing, but not necessarily impossible as technology continues to advance. I really liked reading the Original Althea’s journal, and found it very interesting how a creative experiment could go so horribly wrong. I thought that and the backstory of how this world came to be was my favorite part of the book.
