The cover is not at all suggestive of the scifi/dystopian themes - it looks more like a cover for fluffy contemporary romance. In this case, it was good because I was pleasantly surprised of the depth.
Meanwhile, from the first three chapters, I was hooked. I expected it to be more similar to Emily Suvada's This Mortal Coil because of the DNA/medical elements, but it is far from it. It reminded me a lot of Ayn Rand's Anthem where the world is filled with a community of clones, not made to stand out but to blend in. It is also a little bit reminiscent of the perfect society in Lois Lowry's The Giver as well as the factions in Veronica Roth's Divergent series. It's a very interesting premise, and immediately I felt a connection with Althea-310 and Jack.
