This book is excellent and most readers will certainly learn that there is much more to listening than they thought. Even good listeners will undoubtedly learn something new. The tone can be slightly off-putting at times as it could be perceived as pretentious or narcissistic, but as the book progressed, I found I was more in awe at how the information was all pulled together. The author thoroughly researched many areas related to listening and carefully gives the reader easy-to-understand results. I truly think this book should be read by everyone, whether you are a professional or not. There is plenty of information and reasoning about all types of listening, including listening to yourself, and practical ways to apply listening skills.
