I was intrigued by the subject matter since there is practically not a person I know who is not connected to the internet either for personal interests, shopping, fun or social forums. Kate Murphy has truly hit the nail on the head when she points out that while the majority of people are connected or have the ability to be instantly connected there seems to be a disconnect in our ability to focus and actually listen. Similar to writing in script or cursive active listening is becoming a lost art. She gives many helpful ways we can identify and address this problem, There is a definite communication breakdown in our busy, always connected society that adversely affects our lives at home and at work.
