"You're Not Listening" by Kate Murphy was an interesting read, because it delves into modern technology, the job world, family, and love relationships. Kate Murphy speaks about a problem, that people in our current times just do not listen as well as they need to to the people around them. Modern technology, she theorizes, gets in the way and ruins many aspects of the world that we're in, because we are so invested in drama, gossip, unimportant news events, and other issues, rather than focusing on the important tasks at hand. People go on dates and spend more time looking at their phones than at their potential love interest. Lastly, Murphy chops up each chapter into an interesting story about our current times, explains the story, and explains how she thinks it could be a better experience, if we cared for and listened to people around us.
