I am so happy that I got a chance to read this book!
As someone who teaches students about mental health and has dedicated a huge portion of her class on listening skills. This book did a great job of summarizing some of what I already knew while also presenting new information! Listening skills are not innate and it really does take work to hone those skills. I send my students out to different homeless shelters and just have them practice their ability to compassionately listen and it's consistently one of their favorite assignments because it really is so necessary!
I appreciated the authors ability to present all the information in a manageable way. I liked her perspective on how we're messing up and our bad habits. I'm not sure if I'm fully on board with her thoughts about gossip but I did appreciate her perspective.
I would absolutely recommend this book to anybody who wants to work on their communication skills!
