You’re Not Listening is like hitting the jackpot for me. I am a Organizational and Leadership Communication major and I am constantly studying communication and active listening from both parties and multiple different scenarios.
I enjoy learning the history and science of theories and communication but do not want to feel like I am reading a textbook. Kate Murphy does a great job of explaining the elements of listening and the crucial key factors that are included. She has research and facts in the reading, but the book is not filled with jargon to the point where it is hard to understand. Murphy did an excellent job of blending the two well. I think anyone of any experience level should read this book and use it as a tool to help better their communication skills and listening skills. I wish I had the whole book to finish!!
