I have never read a book like this, and being honest I have never really wanted to read a book like this. A book about listening and not listening and why it matters? Doesn't sound interesting to me, but I was wrong, very wrong.
You're not listening is such an eye-opening book, you really think to yourself how many times have you fully listened to someone? I thought this book was going to be, "the do's and don'ts on how to listen" which who wants to read that? This book shows you how important, and I really want to stress how important it is to listen to people.
I am amazed with how much I took out of this book. Katie Murphy gives us concrete evidence and gives us so many examples on how we have just stopped really listening and not necessary why and how you need to change that, but how it really is necessary to listen and understand what people are saying.
I feel as though everyone should read this, not because I think we all don't listen. I want people to read this because of how much meaningful information you gain after you read it. I, myself, can already tell this book was such a good thing for me to read, and it isn't an opinionated book. IT has legitimate facts, which made it all the more compelling to read. Honestly, just read it!!
