Hearing and listening to someone are not the same
This is a book that should be mandatory for people to read and understand.
A lot of issues with the world today would be solved if people would just listen to each other properly. But as Murphy points out in this book, most people (and I include myself here) don't really listen or properly pay attention to what others are saying. Even when you have every intention to actually do it.
I listened to the audiobook version and I got to give Murphy credit for writing about listening in such a way that it makes for an easy, engaging listen. She doesn't just logically present data and facts supported by credible sources, she includes anecdotes and out-of-the-box examples that fully support her thesis while being entertaining and attention-retaining.
