It should come as no surprise that social media and technology in general is wrecking havoc on interpersonal relationships. As Murphy points out in the first chapter, rates of suicide and addiction are rising at alarming rates in the US; people hire "stand ins" to come talk to them in their homes and when was the last time you made it all the way through a meal with family or a friend without looking at a phone screen? A much needed cautionary tale for our times of dependence and over-reliance on technology that is taking its toll on the relationships that are most important in our lives.
