This book details the cycling ride the author and his wife took from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C. They get some bad news and his wife wants to take a big trip together doing something really adventurous. I loved the story, I loved the honesty and I loved the author‘s humor. It was a laugh out loud book for me. There are very honest parts where he shares about his heartbreaking upbringing and why riding a cycle in the outdoors didn‘t appeal to him, but the love he has for his wife is inspiring. He would even ride across three states, crossing paths with spiders and snakes and flat tires, for her and her own calling. I can appreciate how he admits that this bike trip wasn’t an earth shattering moment, but it was a trip that they were able to lean into each other and do something together, “just because.“ I hope to read more from this author, and laugh along with him.
