I should preface by saying that this isn't the typical type of book that I gravitate towards. With that said, I thought it'd be a good idea for me to give it a chance, to try something new...

I will say that one thing I can say that I enjoyed was the humor in this book. The author is clearly talented in that respect, and I appreciated that element. With that said, towards the end the humor got to be a bit much--but that might have just been me.

I liked seeing the author and his wife's experience and journey into The Great Allegheny Passage; it clearly seemed like a big thing to them, and that came across. I will say though, the adventure was a bit boring in some places, and left me being disinterested in continuing at certain moments, even though I pushed through. It feels like after the first third of the book or so, the plot became very repetitive.

I appreciate the topics explored through--that it explored both happy and sad moments. And I think the author's voice was welcoming overall, which is good (because I feared it may be preachy, which it wasn't).
