Having not read the synopsis first, when I first saw this cover among the BookishFirst lineup, I thought this was a middle grade book, as it looks like a typical adventure book in that age category. So I found that incredibly misleading right off the bat. As for the actual pages, I found the format interesting and eye catching and the intro was an emotional tie to the author and his wife, but to be honest, I wouldn’t read more. I’m extremely selective about memoirs and this didn’t hold my interest enough to seek out the rest.
