Lovely cover for a heartwarming story
The cover of YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE piqued my interest right away. Its graphics are lovely and with my spouse being a cyclist, I had to know more about the book. Opening up the First Impression delighted me even more. There was a map! I absolutely love when maps are included at the beginning of books. YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE is the true story of the author and his wife’s journey cycling The Great Allegheny Passage and the C&O Canal Towpath trail, so having the map showing their path was great since I couldn’t recall where these trails were off the top of my head.
My heart sunk after reading the first line. How sad will this book be? But the writing falls into an easy cadence that feels like a friend is telling you a story.
“It’s all uphill from here – literally.” The bike ride is going uphill and I have a feeling that my enjoyment of this book will as well if this sample is a good indication. I look forward to reading the rest of YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE.
