The author writes in a chatty, comfortable, easy to read style. Descriptive parts are not long and drawn out but enough information to create a picture of places and characters. The characters, Sean and math teacher wife Jamie, seem like real people and ones the reader could develop more and more admiration and liking for as the story progresses. After such difficulty finding the trail head, I wonder what other adventures are coming up on the trail.
