I thoroughly enjoyed the book. The prose is well written and the characters are interesting and well developed. I love the Jewish representation. It was interesting to see a story set in WW2 outside of the camps; I don't believe I've read a story about Jews fighting back during the war before. It was very satisfying to experience vengeance along with Vera. After all, the only good Nazi is a dead Nazi. If anything, it could have done with even more Nazi killing. There are some body horror elements, but nothing overly repulsive or gross.
One element that stood out to me was the idea that an individual can only have so much impact in the world. We all have our limitations and can only do the best we can with what we have. As much as I wish Vera could have eliminated all of the Nazis it's just not feasible, and would have diminished the struggle of real people who face real evil.
