I loved the author’s previous book because of the story itself but mostly the writing. Its moves so fluidly and beautifully. I felt like I wasn’t moving fast enough to read it as quickly as I wanted to and that is a sign that it is a good book. The characters are relatable and full of personality. I felt like I really got to know the characters. The cover is stunning. It feels Shakespearean to me. Very mysterious and Magic’s. I love to see more books inspired by Jewish culture. I had a student who is Jewish and he is very passionate about his faith. I would have loved to hand him a fantasy with his faith intertwined. Diverse representations are so important for our development and growth. And this felt unique. It wasn’t the same story I’ve heard a hunted times over (cough cough hunger games). It is fresh and exciting. I can’t wait to get my hands on the published book.
