Synopsis didn't do it for me, but I liked the first chapter!

The synopsis of this book really had me doubting it would be for me. The fantasy/magical part of the book was really played up, but at least the first chapter really reads more like historical fiction with a touch of fantasy. I love WW2 fantasy and definitely think I would give this book more of a try!
