Interesting Concept, Not Sure About the Pacing
The cover? Amazing. And if I saw it on the shelf, I'd clock that Andrew Joseph White blurb and be tempted to reach for it.
The prologue is a great hook, and I'm glad it's there, because I can tell that the pacing of this book might be a bit slow at the beginning. Maybe because I'm already familiar with the concept of golems, I found the first two chapters to be a slow, but given what the author has set up, I expect that won't last long. I don't have a clear sense of where the book will go from here, given the introduction of magical concepts into the historical setting, but I get the impression that it will be handled thoughtfully.
