Great First Impression
The cover is what initially caught my eye. It's stunning.
Polydoros is an awesome writer, and this first look showcases a different side of his talent than the other book of his that I've read (The City Beautiful). It's hard not to want to read a book steeped in Jewishness, and centers a golem that's designed to kill Nazis. I love finding Jewish beliefs and folklore woven into stories, and this seems to be a particular strength of Polydoros's, making his books a pleasure to read, and this first look is no different. In addition, he does a great job with describing just enough to make it easy to visualize things in my head, and avoids info dumping.
