I am reflexively skeptical of anything set in WWII, because so much of it is just exploitative trauma porn. But this one I had a feeling just from looking at the cover that it would be different. There's definitely tragedy in it (because of course there is, it is set during WWII) but the focus on anger and vengeance rather than just a sort of "isn't this so messed up" rubbernecking at the war is refreshing. I am so curious to see where this goes!
