(I was given permission to read the first 35 pages of this book to share my impressions.)

If you don't know about the Golem of Prague or Frankenstein, the retelling aspects of this book will have little meaning to you. Thankfully it isn't pivotal to the story itself.

Driven by grief and a a burning desire for revenge, a father makes a golem in the form of his lost daughter. We get to see this through the eyes of said golem, through the mind of the creation, and learn the world while reliving the nightmares of war. This is haunting and enchanting, a perfect book to read on a stormy night.
