It was easy to grow attached to all of the characters in just a short excerpt. The setting was easy to get drawn into, and the pacing was perfect. I'm interested to see where this goes. If the young boy ended up surviving, if Vera will get revenge for Chaya, or if she'll choose her own path. A great and haunting start.
