I was able to read an excerpt. I was intrigued as soon as I began reading and was curious regarding the circumstances of the main character's abysmal situation. While it is a story of a young queen struggling to maintain order of the survivors of her kingdom, I like that she presents as strong. The character development was good though I wanted to know more about Catalina and Ana. The world building was very good and I loved the cultural influence. The descriptions were good enough that I could visualize scenery, characters, and even the food without everything being overly wordy. Pacing is always important and I felt as though the author established decent pace upfront where the trader is provided substantial information to stay interested without becoming bored.
