Lush Bolivian YA Fantasy that lived up to the hype! Loved it!

A quick YA read with a smooth writing style and wonderful pacing of the plot. Highly immersive within the setting itself and will definitely leave you craving some Bolivian cuisine! The magic system was my favorite, but I can’t go into much detail without spoiling the fun of discovery for others – just know that it was great! However, I never felt the emotional turmoil or deep connection to the story myself. Maybe because I read through it so fast? I’m not sure, but my heart strings just didn’t get tugged as much as I want for a 5-star review. So, I think I will settle with a 4.5-star rating on this one! I will read more of Isabel’s stories in the future.

The cover art was so gorgeous, and even more meaningful once the story is finished! I loved that the author was able to illustrate her own cover and just put her personal mark all over this beautiful debut!
