First off, you should know that I enjoyed this book despite any small flaws. The description of colors and all the talk of food, are two things I absolutely LOVE in a fantasy or-- let's be honest-- any book of any genre.

I loved the unique and different flavor (see what I did there) of this story. It's set in a fantasy South America and I am here for that kind of representation! I loved the magic, the weaving, and the animals.

However, I did feel that the characters didn't speak and act like real people, and were often more caricatures than characters. A few of the plot devices fell through, and tbh the chapter titles in Spanish threw me off (HS spanish was a LONG time ago)

But overall I enjoyed this story! It was low stakes and sweet. <3
