I ended up really enjoying learning more about the Bolivian culture as well as the politics behind everything. I didn't care too much for the characters as I found Ximena to be a bit immature for her responsibility and standing at times. There were a number of instances where she ended up causing some fatal accidents because of her immaturity and recklessness.
The romance also felt awkward and I personally thought this book would have been stronger without that. It didn't make much sense for the romance to even occur especially when the first impression was really not great nor were any of the subsequent impressions.
The only part that I really loved about the book was the Bolivian culture and finding out the foods that Ximena was eating.
